Twelve juniors headed to the National Junior Indoor Rowing Championships in the Lee Valley Athletics Stadium to compete against over 2500 juniors from across the country.
With races varying from three minutes to 2km depending on age, the juniors raced well to put in good performances, with everyone finishing within the top half of their categories. Special mention goes to Amy and Camille, who finished within the top 10% of their categories in Year 11 and Year 9 girls respectively.
The juniors also made the most of the day to meet and put their questions to some of the adult rowers who came to support the day, including Mark Hunter (who gave up lots of time to discuss all aspects of training, racing and being a lightweight rower, as well as to give his advice on controlling nerves), Katherine Grainger and the Oxford and Cambridge boat race teams.
